Petrol-Diesel Prices Today, December 5: Amid crude oil prices in the international market hitting a multiple-month low, the price of petrol and diesel were left unchanged on Monday, 5 December. Every morning at 6:00 AM, fuel prices are updated by the oil marketing companies. The fuel rates have remained static for the past 5 months. Public sector oil marketing corporations revise fuel prices on a daily basis.

The last significant nationwide variation in fuel prices occurred in May after the government reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre.

Petrol, Diesel Latest Prices in major metropolitan Cities

Those living in Delhi are paying Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.

People in Chandigarh are paying Rs 84.26 for diesel and Rs 96.20 for petrol.

A litre of petrol costs Rs 102.63 in Chennai and a litre of diesel costs Rs 94.24.

In Mumbai, a litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 and a litre of diesel costs Rs 94.27.

In NOIDA, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.

Fuel prices are revised in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs). OMCs include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
