Petrol, diesel prices hiked for fourth day in a row, touch new high - check rates in metro cities

The petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday. The prices were hiked by Rs 0.35 on Saturday. It has to be noted that on Friday, the petrol and diesel prices were hiked by Rs 0.35 as well. The petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged on Monday and Tuesday of this week, after increasing for four consecutive days till last Sunday.

With this hike of Rs 0.35 today, the price of petrol has become Rs 107.24 per litre and Rs 113.12 per litre, in Delhi and Mumbai, respectively.

The diesel price in Delhi and Mumbai has rose to Rs 95.97 per litre and Rs 104 per litre, respectively.

Petrol prices had maintained stability since September 5 but oil companies finally raised its pump prices last week and this week given a spurt in the product prices lately.

According to the official website of fuel retailer Indian Oil, prices of petrol and diesel are as follows:

1) Delhi - Petrol - Rs 107.24, Diesel - Rs 95.97

2) Kolkata - Petrol - Rs 107.78, Diesel - Rs 99.08

3) Mumbai - Petrol - Rs 113.12, Diesel - Rs 104

4) Chennai - Petrol - Rs 104.22, Diesel - Rs 100.25
