For diesel, price per litre in New Delhi on July 7, 2017 was Rs 53.82, Rs 56.11 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 59.15 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 56.65 per litre in Chennai.

GLobal crude oil prices have been cooling off after gaining over the past few weeks.
The Government on Thursday said, "The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas was US$ 48.16 per barrel (bbl) on 05.07.2017. This was lower than the price of US$ 48.62 per bbl on previous publishing day of 04.07.2017."
In rupee terms, the price of Indian Basket decreased to Rs. 3117.04 per bbl on 05.07.2017 as compared to Rs. 3151.22 per bbl on 04.07.2017. Rupee closed stronger at Rs. 64.72 per US$ on 05.07.2017 as compared to Rs. 64.82 per US$ on 04.07.2017.
