Paytm down: Users seek compensation as mobile payment app, website not working; company reacts

Paytm app down: Digital payments platform Paytm on Friday morning faced an outage with multiple users complaining that they are not able to access the services on the app. According to reports, users say that they are being logged out of the application and unable to login back. A similar issue is being faced by them on the Paytm website as well.
Paytm Money confirmed the development in a Tweet. “Due to a network error across Paytm, a few of you might be facing an issue in logging into the Paytm Money App/website,” the company said via its official Paytm Money handle.
“We are already working on fixing the issue at the earliest. We will update you as soon as it is resolved,” the digital payment platforms added.
Paytm users say that when they are trying to sign in, they are getting a message which reads: "Something went wrong, please try again after some time".
Outage detection website DownDetector also confirmed about the Paytm app and website were down across the country. Paytm users in metro cities Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru are among others to face the heat.
Several users took to Twitter to share their grievances. Many of the traders are even seeking compensation for the loss they suffered in the F&O (Futures and Options) due to the crash of Paytm Money during the market time.
“We are facing losses due to the issues happening at paytm money now and then and this is not the first time this is happening...licence should be canceled,” a user said tagging SEBI and Finance Ministry.
