A parliamentary committee is holding a meeting to review and discuss the updates on various initiatives by PSUs under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat today. According to the Lok Sabha website, the meeting of the petroleum and the natural gas standing committee is scheduled to take place at 3 PM today.

The listed agenda on the website to be discussed in the committee are:

(i) To consider and adopt the draft 10th report on the subject 'National Gas Grid.' 

(ii) Briefing by representatives of the Ministry of P&NG/PSUs on the subject "Initiatives undertaken by oil PSUs in Petroleum Sector under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat".

The meeting will have all PSU oil companies. They are going to report on the steps taken for a self-reliant India. Also, the updates on Ethanol Blending and reports on future plans will be discussed in the committee. 

Additionally, the parliamentary committee will also present its report in the house, which will be about security and technology upgrades.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas, an interconnected National Gas Grid was envisaged to ensure the adequate availability and equitable distribution of natural gas in all parts of the country. At present, there are about 17000 km long Natural Gas pipeline network that is operational in the country. However, in order to make available natural gas across the country, it has been envisaged to develop additional about 15,500 km pipelines to complete the National Gas Grid, and the same are at various stages of development.
