The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Monday, informed of new milestone touched by Aadhaar card. UIDAI revealed that over 3 lakh Aadhaar have been downloaded every day. e-Aadhaar is a password protected electronic copy of Aadhaar, which is digitally signed by the competent Authority of UIDAI. A resident can download eAadhaar anytime and anywhere from uidai.gov.in. One of the major reasons for having an eAadhaar is that it holds the value exactly like physical copy. This eliminates the possibility of losing your 12-digit biometric. On its website, UIDAI says, "e-Aadhaar is equally valid like Physical Copy of Aadhaar for all purposes."
