If you need to update any information on your Aadhaar card you can do so for free on the myAadhaar portal.

Under the Aadhaar Enrollment and Updating Rules, 2016, individuals are permitted to update their supporting documents in Aadhaar at least once every ten years. This provision ensures that the demographic facts remain up-to-date and reliable for authentication purposes.

Highlighting the importance of this initiative, the UIDAI took to Twitter, urging citizens to keep their demographic details updated. They emphasised that individuals who had received their Aadhaar cards ten years ago and hadn't updated them yet could now upload their Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents online without incurring any charges.

The move aims to bolster the success rate of authentication and contribute to better service delivery across various government initiatives and programs. The Aadhaar number has become a widely recognised form of identification, with its usage extending to approximately 1,200 government schemes at the federal and state levels. Moreover, financial institutions like banks and NBFCs have also integrated Aadhaar-based identification to streamline customer onboarding.
