ONGC Navi Mumbai fire incident live update: There was a massive fire accident that took place at the oil and gas processing plant of state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation plant at Uran near Mumbai this morning. While the incident has successfully doused in a short span. The fire broke out massively and killed 5 people so far, while three are injured as per initial reports. The police have sealed a 1-km area around the plant and the firefighters are trying to take the situation under control.

ONGC in a tweet said the fire broke out in a stormwater drain of the oil and gas processing plant at Uran, 45 km from Mumbai. Oil processing is not affected, the company tweeted, adding gas has been diverted to a plant at Hazira in Gujarat, 330 km away.

ONGC is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in the country with around 70 per cent contribution to domestic production.
The company claimed that there has been no impact on oil processing and said that gas is being diverted to Hazira Plant. However, the exact cause of the accident is yet to be investigated.
