Whenever the consumers buy any goods/services and insist on getting a bill, it would help reduce rates, the minister tweeted. He also requested the public to immediately report if anyone was harassed by any officer or trader.
"A telephone helpline number and multi media service will be started soon where the complaints can be made http://directly. Name of the complainant will also be kept confidential," the minister said. The minister said as of now, neither any complaints nor any claims for GST refunds (of those who have filed claims) are pending till 30th April, 2018. Two Special campaigns were launched by CBIC in this regard.
Piyush Goyal said that the major thrust of the government would be on simplicity, honesty, transparency and lower rates of taxation. The minister thanked everybody including states/UTs governments, business community especially small traders and political parties.
