According to Mumbai Mirror, the bungalow has received the all-clear certificate and occupation permission from the BMC on September 19.

Ajay Piramal heads the $10 billion Piramal Group, which carries on business spread across sectors like healthcare, life sciences, drug discovery, healthcare information management, specialty glass packaging, financial services and real estate.

The Chairman of Piramal Group had bought the Old Gulita property from FMCG-major Hindustan Unilever.

Let’s check out the new home which awaits for the couple Isha and Anand.

The bungalow has five floors spreading out about 50,000 square feet. It has three basements of which second and third floor are meant for parking, reveals Mumbai Mirror.

Reportedly, the level 1 basement has a lawn, an open-air water body, and a double height multi-purpose room. Meanwhile, ground floor houses the entrance lobby, and the upper storeys have floor plates ranging between 8,700 sq ft and 12,300 sq ft dotted with living and dining halls, triple-height multi-purpose rooms, bedrooms and circular studies.

Apart from this, the bungalow has lounge areas, dressing rooms and servants’ quarters at different levels.

Considering all the above, the property was purchased by Ajay Piramal for a massive Rs 452.5 crore in 2012. The amount of this bungalow would have appreciated a lot by now.

The Gulita is more than three decade old property. It was built in 1986 and was put on saler after HUL shifted its training centre to suburban Andheri. The moment Gulita was offered for sale, many renowned names already had their eyes set on the building before Piramal could purchase it. In 2014, it was known that among few names were ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani and Gautam Adani of Adani Group who were interested in Gulita.

Of course, Old Gulita is no match for Isha Ambani's current residence! She resides in an eye-ball grabbing, mammoth 27-storey building called Antilla at Altamount road of South Mumbai, which has 4 lakh square feet and is said to be the second most expensive home in the world after Buckingham Palace.

In 2014, Forbes list revealed that, The title of the most outrageously expensive property in the world still belongs to Mukesh Ambani's Antilia in Mumbai, India. The 27-storey, 400,000-square-foot skyscraper home--which is named after a mythical island in the Atlantic--includes six stories of underground parking, three helicopter pads, and reportedly requires a staff of 600 to keep it running.

Construction costs for Antilia have been reported at a range of $1 billion to $2 billion. To put that into perspective, 7 World Trade Center, the 52-story tower that stands just north of Ground Zero in Manhattan with 1.7 million square feet of office space, cost a reported $2 billion to build.

Anand is the founder of Piramal Realty, one of India's most admired real estate companies. Prior to Piramal Realty, Anand founded Piramal Swasthya, a rural healthcare initiative that treats 40,000 patients a day. He is also an Executive Director of the Piramal Group, a global business congolomerate. Anand was previously the youngest President of the Indian Merchant Chamber - Youth Wing.

Anand holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
