October box office collection: Big setback for Varun Dhawan at BO
While Varun Dhawan is known for his commercial films, with October movie, he has proved that his acting talent is not restricted to that only and that he can as easily churn out an offbeat success story too.
October box office collection: This Shoojit Sircar-directed film released a week ago across 1683 screens. Although the film took off on a sluggish note, the business of the film witnessed a good growth in collections over its opening weekend. After its first week the film starring Varun Dhawan managed to do just about decently on the weekdays. The movie is an offbeat one and not much was really expected. However, the film has been able to achieve a considerable total courtesy its ability to maintain the earnings at a big enough level. Now that the first week has drawn to a close, it has some unpleasant news for Varun Dhawan.
October box office collection has reached a total of Rs 30.24 crore at the end of the week. This is not a small amount for a movie. However, for Varun Dhawan, this has become his lowest opening week grosser! What is notable is that this movie, which also stars Banita Sandhu, has not been able to boost its take into double digits even once. So, on opening day it garnered Rs 5.04 crore and followed it up with Rs 7.47 crore, Rs 7.74 crore, Rs 2.70 crore, Rs 2.61 crore and finally, the latest figure is for Wednesday at Rs 2.43 crore.
While Varun Dhawan is known for his commercial films, with October movie, he has proved that his acting talent is not restricted to that only and that he can as easily churn out an offbeat success story too. Notably, Rani Mukerji managed to do the same with another offbeat film, Hichki, which collected a sum of Rs 43.95 crore. October box office collection is being powered to a large extent by good word of mouth boost. This is likely to continue and with the weekend approaching, the take is going to fatten up further.
