Drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on Monday said that it has fixed the retail prices of 25 new drug formulations. Companies will issue new prices through Form-V from the date of notification and inform the entire dealership to the public.

All retailers and dealers will have to put up a new rate list. If a company fails to do so, then the company will have to deposit the extra amount charged with interest in DPCO.

"In case the retail price of any of the aforesaid formulations is not complied with, as per instant price notification and notes specified hereinabove, then the concerned manufacturer/marketing company shall be liable to deposit the overcharged amount along with the interest thereon under the provisions of the DPCO, 2013 read with the Essential Commodities Act, 1955," the official notification read.

Other companies include Aristo Pharma, Wockhardt, Cipla, Glenmark Pharma, Zydus Healthcare, Lupin, Torrent, Mankind, Alembic, Sun Pharma and Abbott, among others.
