Now simply scan QR code to get user manual and customer support for electronic goods: Check out details here
As the Ministry of Consumer Affairs pointed out, the main reason behind this was the small size of the packets of items, which makes it impossible to include all the details on the cover.
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has issued a notification to implement the use of a QR code on the box of electronic items so that users can scan that to access the user manual, reach out to customer support, and find out other product details.
Many times, when customers go to buy electronic goods, they don’t get to know the details of what is inside the packaging, how to use it, the place where it has been imported, or whom to contact for any other information, suggestion, or complaint. As the Ministry of Consumer Affairs pointed out, the main reason behind this was the small size of the packets of items, which makes it impossible to include all the details on the cover. To overcome this issue, the system of QR codes has been implemented from today onwards, as it was not easy to print information on such a small cover, nor was it convenient for the customer to read. The QR code will contain information on the manufacturer, importer, and item within the pack, as well as information related to its use.
As per the ministry's circular, it is also necessary to have details of product-related information, complaints, numbers, etc., and the government made it mandatory to provide information in QR codes for packaging electronic goods. As per the ministry, this move has been taken to increase transparency, and it will also be easier to crack down on substandard, untrusted, and fake items.
