Now, Pathankot gets UDAN regional connectivity boost, first Alliance Air flight takes wing

Under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), Pathankot today came under the civil aviation network, with Alliance Air operating its first flight from Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport to the destination. Pathankot thus became the 21st Airport under the UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the flight along with MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla.
 
The flight from Delhi to Pathankot will operate thrice, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, in a week, departing from Delhi at 0955 Hrs and arriving at Pathankot at 1130 Hrs. While returning from Pathankot, the flight will depart at 1150 Hrs to reach Delhi at 1335 Hrs. The introduction of this flight will reduce the travel time between the two cities significantly. Under the UDAN Scheme, this will be the 19th route operated by Alliance Air.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this UDAN scheme on April 27, 2017, flagging off the first flight of Alliance Air on Shimla – Delhi route. 

Alliance Air, which has been a front-runner in regional connectivity, presently operates the network from 49 stations. The Airline continues to focus on new routes to connect regional destinations, as it has been awarded 18 new routes under UDAN-II, which are being launched progressively this year, bringing new destinations on India’s air map.

Through its codeshare accord with Air India, Alliance Air not only provides regional connectivity within the country but also offers seamless connectivity to regional passengers on Air India’s network in India and abroad.
