Now get fuel delivered to your doorstep; all you need to know
The government along with state-owned oil companies have taken one step further for the convenience of customers, with the commencement of ‘home delivery of diesel’ services.
Imagine you are travelling somewhere, and all of a sudden your vehicle stops because of insufficient fuel in it, and you cannot do anything about it, as there are no petrol pumps near you. This can be very frustrating at points as you are stuck in the middle of nowhere and have to rely on other vehicles, but guess what, you can order fuel for yourself wherever you are either in house or someplace else. The government along with state-owned Oil Companies has taken one step further for the convenience of customers, with Indian Oil Corp commencing ‘home delivery of diesel’ services. It is not alone in providing this service, there are many other companies who are offering online fuel services.
Sanjiv Singh, Chairman of Indian Oil was quoted as saying, “In a move to make availability of daily use fuel for consumers, even in far-flung areas, Indian Oil has launched ‘home delivery of diesel’ on a pilot basis in Pune. We plan to expand it’s doorstep delivery to other parts of the country in near future.”
Doorstep delivery is not a substitute for sale through retail outlets (petrol pumps). It is meant to serve consumers, say a farm harvester, for whom it doesn't make sense to travel to a petrol pump just to refuel. #IndianOil pic.twitter.com/5QRcBYddPq

Singh further added, “We have to develop a business model for doorstep delivery. Mobile dispenser for door delivery of fuel can be used in areas where there is no petrol pump in a radius of 5 km.”
