Indian Railways has opened a section of the AC lounge while the second section is going to open in the next few days.
Indian Railways has been revamping its waiting rooms as well as been constructing new AC lounges for the passengers. The new lounges have been provided with world-class facilities but to avail that, you will have to spend some more bucks. These kind of lounges is being maintained by IRCTC at many prominent railway stations including Ahmedabad and New Delhi.
If you want to avail the facilities of the new AC lounge at the New Delhi Railway Station, you should know the charges first. An adult passenger will have to pay Rs 10 per hour while the charges for children have been kept at Rs 5 per hour. If you want to use the sofa at the lounge, the charges are Rs 60 for one hour for adult and Rs 30/hour for children.
Another thing that you should keep in mind that you cannot take outside food into the lounge. If you want to eat something, you will have to buy it from the food counter inside the lounge. These rules may create trouble for the passenger of trains running late by several hours.
Special racks have been provided in the AC lounge for passengers. Those using the lounge can keep their luggage in these racks. This will keep clear the floor of luggage acting as obstacles.

Once you enter the AC lounge at the New Delhi Railway Station, you will have to show your ticket at the counter inside the lounge. Your ticket should be of an air-conditioned coach. Then you will have to pay charges per passenger and will get access to the lounge.
