Now chat online with IT-department experts to clear your doubt in tax filing
A taxpayer can get their doubt answered by entering on official website of IT-department. There is an icon at the right side of website.
Easing the burden for taxpayers further, the Income Tax department on Wednesday launched an online chat box who will answer all their basic queries regards to filings.
An Income tax officer in a PTI report said, "A team of experts from the department and independent tax practitioners has been deputed to answer the general queries of a taxpayer. The first-time initiative is aimed to enhance taxpayer services in the country."
A taxpayer can get their doubt answered by entering on official website of IT-department. There is an icon at the right side of website which says, ‘Live Chat Online- ask your query’.
By clicking on that icon you will have the access to chat online with IT experts. However, this service is only available from Monday - Friday of every week during 10 am to 06 pm of evening. The service would not be available after this time.
Apart from it, the department on its website, released an advertisement reminding the taxpayers to e-file their income tax return by October 31, 2017.
It stated that all companies whose accounts are required to be audited (including working partners and firm, have to e-file your ITR for the assessment year 2017-18 and audit report under section 44AB and 115 JB of the Income-Tax, 1961.
Last month, the department proposed to appoint somewhat 7,600 additional experts to assist small taxpayers in their ITR filing.
The department had also decided to enlarge the ambit of the 2006 Tax Return Preparer Scheme (TRPS) by making that service available digitally and covering about 708 districts of India.
