Monsoon forecast likely to be announced on April 15, 2022, said India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Science, Government of India. It is expected that the monsoon will be normal this year.

"Under the influence of a fresh Western disturbance, isolated/scattered rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and isolated rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning & hail over Uttrakhand during next 24 hours," said IMD.

According to IMD, throughout the next 5 days, light isolated/scattered rainfall is extremely possible over Kerela & Mahe, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Karnataka, as well as Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Rayalaseema. Isolated thunderstorm/lightning activity is also highly likely across Kerela and Ahe during the next 5 days, as well as over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka over the following 2 days.

"Light to moderate scattered/fairly widespread rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during next 5 days with isolated thunderstorm/lightning over the region during next 3 days," said IMD.
