Noida's Twin Towers demolition date: The Supreme Court on Friday granted an extension of a week to the Noida authority to demolish Supertech's Twin Towers in Sector 93A. The Noida authority had made submissions to the top court seeking an additional bandwidth of August 29-September 4 for demolition of Twin Towers.

The Twin Towers were earlier slated to be demolished on August 21.

A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud accepted the Noida authority's submissions and extended the demolition date of 40-storey towers in the Emerald Court project of the Supertech date to August 28 with a bandwidth of 7 days until September 4. 

The extension was granted on account of technical delay and delay due to weather conditions.

According to news agency IANS, all preparations have been made by the agency to demolish the towers. Police have issued NOC for planting explosives. 

In case of damage to the surrounding property, an insurance of Rs 100 crore has been given. All preparations have been made to bring explosives from Palwal to Noida. 

All other formalities have been completed except the structural analysis report to be submitted to Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) by August 15.
