No RAC, tatkal tickets in Indian Railways special trains!
The Ministry for Railways has announced that there will be no RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) in the special trains that began services from 12th May 2020.
The Ministry for Railways has announced that there will be no RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) in the special trains that began services from 12th May 2020. The Indian Railways also made it clear that there will be limited waiting lists (WL) tickets for different classes for Special Trains being introduced from 12th May 2020. These changes will become applicable for the trains which starts from 223nd May 2020. Booking for these train tickets will become available at the IRCTC website from tomorrow i.e. 15th May 2020.
The Ministry of Railways made announcement in this regard and said, "Indian Railways will start issuing limited waiting lists tickets for different classes for Special Trains being introduced from 12.05.2020. There shall be No RAC in these special trains. The changes shall be made applicable for the trains starting date 22nd May, 2020 i.e. booking for which shall commence from 15th May, 2020."

As per the details made available by the Indian Railways, maximum wait list ticket limit in 1 AC and executive for the special traina commencing from 22nd May 2020 will be 20 only. For 2 AC, this limit for wait listed ticket is 50, while for 3 AC and AC Chair Car this limit is 100. For sleepe class, the maximum limit for wait listed tickets has been fixed at 200 only.

Indian Railways has taken some other decisions with respect to Special Trains restored with effect from 12th May 2020 which are as under:
1] Other rules concerning waiting list shall be applicable;
2] No Tatkal/Premium Tatkal Quotas shall be defined;
3] Senior Citizen Quota, Ladies Quota and Quota for Divyangjans(HP) shall be defined as per extant instructions; and
4] The refund rules i.e. cancellation upto 24 hours with refund of 50% of fare and NIL refund within 24 hours of train departure shall be discontinued and extant refund rules i.e.Railways Cancellation and Refund rule 2015 shall be made applicable.
