Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to make official visits to Mexico and the US from October 16. The Union Minister will leave on Tuesday night, according to an official statement. During her official visits to the countries, she will engage in a number of high-level meetings including annual gatherings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, and engagements between F20 Finance Ministers and central bankers.

During her multilateral discussions spanning a broad range of areas, the finance minister will showcase India’s attractiveness as an investment destination. 

Nirmala Sitharaman Mexico Visit Dates

The Union Minister's official visit to Mexico is scheduled from October 17 through October 20. During the visit, she will lead a delegation of Finance Ministry officials underscoring a positive trajectory of growing bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries.

She will begin her visit to Mexico in Guadalajara, where she will chair a roundtable of global tech leaders.

The Indian Finance Minister will engage in bilateral talks with her Mexican counterpart Rogelio Ramirez de la O, Minister of Finance and Public Credit of Mexico.

Sitharaman will also visit the TCS office in Guadalajara. 

In Mexico City, Sitharaman will deliver a keynote address at the India-Mexico Trade and Investment Summit with participation from key industry captains from both countries.

In the last leg of her Mexico visit, Sitharaman will participate in a community event hosted by the Indian diaspora.

The Union Minister's official visit to the US is scheduled from October 20 through October 26.

During her US visit, Sitharaman will participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, a fourth round of meeting between G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, and a joint gathering of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, environment ministers, and foreign ministers.

During her two-city visit to New York City and Washington DC, Sitharaman will participate in the pension funds roundtable at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). She will also interact with students and faculty at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and the Columbia University. She will also engage in discussions organised by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

The finance minister will also participate in bilateral meetings with several countries, including the UK, Switzerland, and Germany, and hold one-on-one meetings with the heads of the World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), besides CEOs of banking and financial institutions.
