Next Bank Holiday: Banks in many cities will remain closed for public on 19 August on account Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8) or Krishna Jayanthi. Indian cities where banks will remain shut for banking operations include Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gangtok, Jaipur, Jammu, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar.

The banks will remain open for public in all major metros including Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Banks will also remain closed on 20 August, 29 August and 31 August on account of Sri Krishna Ashtami, Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva, Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/ Ganesh Chaturthi / Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata / Vinayakar Chathurthi.

On 20 August, banks will remain closed for operations in Hyderabad. On 29 August, banks will be shut for public operations in Guwahati.

On 31 August, banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru,Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur and Panaji.
