New IRCTC refund rule gives your money back if you missed your train
Indian Railways passengers who have booked connecting train tickets can get their money back if they miss their second train due to the first train running late.

The Indian Railways passengers who have booked connecting train tickets can get their money back if they miss their second train due to the first train running late. Under a new initiative by IRCTC, these passengers can get their money back. Railways connecting journey allows passengers to link PNRs for connecting trains, enabling easy and quick refunds. As trains sometimes run hours late, many passengers miss their connecting trains. Now, these passengers can claim their money back through the IRCTC website or app by providing their PNR number.

For the connecting journey, PNR "from" station and boarding station should be same and PNR "To" station and reserved up to should be same. For booking a connecting journey, the passenger details including name in both the PNRs should be same. Name/age/gender changes are not be allowed for connected PNRs. Only confirm, part confirm tickets are allowed for connecting journey ticket booking. Day difference between main journey and connecting journey should not be more than 5 days.
The minimum and maximum difference of time between scheduled arrival at the destination of the main journey and scheduled departure at boarding of connecting Journey are one minute and five days, respectively. In case the passenger miss connecting trains due to first train's delay, the passenger has to claim the money.
