“This platform can also pick up 100 kg of cargo/conduct medical evacuation. It can fly for around 30 mins with a range of 25-30 km. In case of malfunction, it has a ballistic parachute that can come up. We are working towards urban air mobility,” said Founder, Sagar Defence Engineering. After thorough testing, the Indian Navy will use it on warships for the first time in the war. After this, it will be used to transport humans. Recently it was demonstrated in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 'Swavalamban' program held in New Delhi.
How does it work?
The person just has to sit in the drone. This drone is operated with the help of a remote. The drone has four autopilot modes, some retaining the ability to fly continuously even in the event of a rotor failure. At present, it has been tested on land, sea trials will be conducted soon.
Sea trials to happen soon
The land-based trials of the Varuna drone are currently underway and the sea trials of Varuna will begin soon. Which will meet many needs of the Navy. At present, if the Navy has to transfer goods from one ship to another in the sea, then both the ships are brought close to each other, and then the goods are transported. With the help of Varuna, this task will be done easily.
