Narendra Modi swearing-in ceremony Highlights: Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the second time with his new council of ministers at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Ahead of his swearing-in, Modi visited Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi`s memorial, where he was accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Ahead of his swearing-in, Modi visited Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi`s memorial, where he was accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The Prime Minister-designate then visited the `Sadaiv Atal`, the memorial of Vajpayee. Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including party chief Amit Shah, Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, JP Nadda, Prakash Javadekar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Suresh Prabhu and Dharmendra Pradhan were also present. Modi's third stop was the National War Museum where he was accompanied by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Vice Chief of Air Force RKS Bhadauria.

08.57 pm: Debasree Chaudhuri takes oath as MoS.
confirmed names who have got a call from the PMO for joining the Modi Cabinet 2.0. Here are they:Jitender Singh, Ramdas Athawale, Kishan Reddy, Ram Vilas Paswan, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Suresh Angadi (Belgaum MP), Piyush Goel, Prahalad Joshi, Mukhtar Abbas Naqwi, BJP MP from Damoh Prahlad Patel.
12.32 pm: Republican Party of India leader, Ramdas Athawale is likely to be inducted in Modi Cabinet list. Earlier he told ANI, "I believe that Modi Ji will consider me to be a minister. I'm hopeful of getting a phone call regarding it today. Names of Ram Vilas Paswan, Anupriya Patel and Arvind Sawant have come, I think I will also get a chance to serve the nation."
12:16 PM: Sources have confirmed PTI that ministers selected for oath of office will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 4:30 pm today at his residence. Around that time we will start having a clear picture of who all will be part of the new cabinet.
12:10 PM: President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena, has also arrived in Delhi to attend the ceremony.
11:50 PM: President of Myanmar, U Win Myint, has arrived in Delhi. He will attend PM Narendra Modi's oath ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan later today. Meanwhile, Raveen Thukral, Media Adviser to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has confirmed that the Congress leader will not attend PM Narendra Modi's oath ceremony today.
11:18 PM: It has been reported that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah has reached 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, to draw final list of MPs to take oath along with the prime minister. Senior members like Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Narendra Singh Tomar and Prakash Javadekar are likely to retain their place.
11:16 AM: Market expert Ajay Bagga told Zee Busines TV that Amit Shah's appointment as Finance minister will confirm his status as the second most important person in the government. "If Amit Shah is given Ministry of Finance, it will be clear that he is the second most important person in the government. He has been a banker and been associated with financial services for 30 years now, so he has the experience. But, there are some reports claiming that he has an important role to play in the party. So, things will be clear by evening," Bagga said.
11:02 AM: The BJP has claimed that Mamata was looking for "excuses" to avoid attending the event. "She got an excuse (for not attending). The decision to invite the kin of BJP workers was of the state unit. The kin were asked if they wished to attend, they can. They expressed their desire to come hence they were invited," BJP General Secretary and West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya said at a press conference.
10:53 AM: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to attend the ceremony. Reacting to this, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the way Mamata has been promoting violence, she has made the right decision by not coming. "Unko aana bhi nahi chahiye. Jaise unhone loktantra mein hinsa karke khoon-kharaba kiya...unke pass nazar kahan hai ki aisi sabha mein baith kar logon se nazar milayen," he said.
10:43 AM: Ending all speculations, Arun Jaitley has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to give him a ministerial position in the new government due to ongoing health problems. Jaitley's absence will leave Modi without one of his most important lieutenants as he begins his second five-year term in power following the Bharatiya Janata Party`s landslide election victory earlier this month. Sources have told Zee Business TV that BJP chief Amit Shah can be given the finance ministry instead.
10:30 AM: For the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team of ministers, Delhi police is deploying around 5,000 personnel in the New Delhi area. The national capital will also be watched by the National Security Guard (NSG) during the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, a senior police officer said. According to the police, the New Delhi district has been divided into six zones with each zone being monitored by a DCP-rank officer. The officer will not only ensure security but will also make sure that the normal traffic is not affected by the VVIP movement.
10:15 AM: Over 6,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony at the forecourt of the majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan which is generally used for according ceremonial reception to visiting heads of state. The guest list includes big names like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Ratan Tata, Rahil Dravid, PT Usha, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Harbhajan Singh, Saina Nehwal, Pulella Gopichand, Dipa Karmakar, Kangana Ranaut, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Bhansali, Karan Johar and Rajnikanth.
10:10 AM: The foreign leaders set to attend Narendra Modi's swearingin ceremony are President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, President of Myanmar U Win Myint and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering. From Thailand, its Special Envoy Grisada Boonrach will represent the country at the ceremony. The government has also invited Kyrgyz President and current chair of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Sooronbay Jeenbekov, and Mauritius PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth for the event.
10:05 AM: The Opposition leaders invited include Congress president Rahul Gandhi, TMC supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
