Mumbai University exams dates to be rescheduled due to upcoming assembly election
The University exams will commence on 1st October 2019. The overall commencement of the exams will remain unaffected and only the exam dates scheduled for these two days will be altered.
Mumbai University has decided to reschedule examination which were initially supposed to be held on 21st and 22nd October 2019. To avoid a clash with the Assembly election which is to be held on the said dates with the examination dates next month, the university has decided to reschedule the dates of examination. As per the media reports, as many as 68 exams will be rescheduled by the university. The University exams will commence on 1st October 2019. The overall commencement of the exams will remain unaffected and only the exam dates scheduled for these two days will be altered.
The rescheduled dates will be announced shortly by the Mumbai university. A vast majority of exams from the Arts, Commerce and Science streams will be affected due to the rescheduling of examination dates.
During the elections the colleges which are used as polling booths will have to be made available for three days – the day of elections and a day before and after the same. Because of which the university had to alter the dates of the exams.
Most of the city schools will remain closed during the Assembly elections on account of Diwali vacations. However, the Internal examinations, falling on teacher training dates, will have to be rescheduled.
