Mumbai to get AC local trains from September this year
Indian Railways has announced recently to start air conditioned coaches on Mumbai's suburban local trains from September this year.
Highlights:1. The AC train will first run on Mumbai's Western Railway network then on its Central Railway network
2. It is not decided yet about the fares for these AC local trains
In a move to beat the heat in Mumbai's suburban trains, Indian Railways will soon introduce air conditioned (AC) in its local trains starting from September this year, Zee Business reported.

The AC train will first run on Mumbai's Western Railway network then it will be run on its Central Railway network.
However, it is not decided yet about the fares for these AC local trains.
About nine rakes will be run on the Western Railway route while the proposal for getting permission for elevated rail corridor between CST-Panvel and Bandra-Virar is underway, it said.
