This is the third spell of heavy rain in Mumbai. Last week, as many as five people had lost their lives in different rain-related incidents in the city.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s Saturday visit to Nagapur was cancelled due to heavy rain alert. Modi was scheduled to visit Nagpur, Mumbai and Aurangabad on Saturday to inaugurate several infrastructure projects, intended to boost the Bharatiya Janata Party`s prospects in poll-bound Maharashtra. He was to lay foundation stone for a Metro coach factory in Nagpur and a Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) project to connect Nagpur with Wardha, Ramtek and Bhandara.
