Mumbai Airport tightens security ahead of Independence Day, advises passengers to plan accordingly

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has issued an advisory for passengers travelling through the airport between August 15 and August 20.

In a tweet posted by CSMIA on X, the airport authorities said "Heads up, travellers! Due to the upcoming Independence Day on August 15, security procedures have been increased at airports until 20th August."
"Passengers are requested to take this into account and plan their arrival at the airport accordingly." further said.
With an expected surge in air travel in the coming weeks, coupled with additional security measures for Independence Day, CSMIA is urging passengers to allocate sufficient time to complete mandatory security protocols.
