Vistara:
The Tata Group and Singapore Airlines-led airline released a notice on Tuesday saying, with addition to the previous cancellations, the following flights to/from Mumbai have also been cancelled for July 02, 2019, due to runway restrictions after runway incident last evening involving another airline at Mumbai airport.
This was indicated towards a SpiceJet flight which overshot the runway during its landing at Mumbai airport. The incident took place during midnight of Monday, with no injuries. The plane which is Boeing 737-800, was coming from Jaipur. This led to closure of main runway at Mumbai airport, with secondary one still being in operation. Because of the SpiceJet incident, even a Korean Air Flight KE655 scheduled from Seoul to Mumbai was diverted to Ahmedabad after the incident.
