Mumbai airport flights update: As the monsoon is in full swing in the city, it has affected a host of services in Mumbai. Right from the roads, local trains to flights, all of these facilities have been affected in Mumbai due to continuous heavy rain. Mumbai airport, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, which is one of the busiest airports in India, on Friday witnessed 133 arrivals and departures that were delayed and that too within a short span of just 15 hours. What is more, flight delays are increasing as there is no let-up in rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that for the next 24 hours, intermittent rain or showers with heavy rain are expected in isolated places in the city and suburbs. Forecasting for the next 48 hours, weather forecast agency says that the intermittent rain or showers with heavy rain or showers are expected too.

According to the Skymet weather report, In the last 24 hours, Mahabalaehswar in Maharashtra has been the rainiest place in India with 279 mm of rainfall. 

Various airlines have already informed the passengers about the delays in flights and have suggested that passengers should first confirm the timings of flights and then travel to the airport. 

According to the Mumbai airport website, 78 flights were delayed during departures including both domestic and international airlines. Majority of flights were delayed between 06 AM till 09 AM. 

Similarly, approximately 55 flights were delayed (arrivals) at Mumbai airport. For arrivals, majority flights were delayed from 12 AM to 3 AM, with more delays to follow.
