Mission Mangal box office collection: August 15 is a massive day for Bollywood as it will witness the box office clash between two of the biggest films of the year - Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal and John Abraham's Batla House. Both the films have created huge buzz ever since their trailers were dropped and are expected to do well despite the Hollywood film 'Once Upon in a Time in Hollywood' releasing on the same date. But, it seems that the Akshay Kumar starrer has already taken a massive lead by earning a whopping amount even before hitting the theatres.

According to film trade analyst, critic and influencer Sumit Kadel, the film has earned around Rs 15 crore through advance bookings for the first four days. With one more day to go for the release, the collection from advance bookings could go up to Rs 18 crore. This would be the highest advance booking for a Akshay Kumar film till date. With this, the extended opening weekend collection is set to be ''humongous'', indeed! 

"Advance booking of #MissionMangal has crossed ₹ 15 cr nett (First 4 days), with one more day left for release film advance can go close to ₹ 18 cr. Highest advance Booking for Akshay Kumar starrer till date. All set for HUMONGOUS OPENING ON 15 AUGUST," Kadel tweeted on Wednesday morning.

In another tweet, he said that even Batla House's advance booking are catching up fast and the film should get a good opening. "Slowly & steady #BatlaHouse Advance booking is catching up fast. Expecting good advance sale today & tomorrow. Opening badiya lagegi," the tweet read.

Earlier, Kadel had told Zee Business Online that Mission Mangal's first day collection should be around Rs 25 to Rs 30 crore in India. 

''Mission Mangal is India's first space technology based movie. Both the trailers of film have fetched a wonderful response so far, people are eager to watch this patriotic movie from Akshay Kumar and the national holiday may help it earn Rs 25 to Rs 30 crore on opening day. The movie has created a buzz among audience, while the actual earnings will depend on the content it possesses," he said.
