Maruti Suzuki launched its Big new WagonR on Wednesday and also announced prices of all its variants. The new car will cost between Rs 4.19 lakh and Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). 1.0-litre LXi would be the base model while AMT-equipped 1.2-litre ZXi model would be the top variant. Now in new pricing pattern, the new Wagon R would be up to Rs 34,000 more epensive in New Delhi.

Main feature of the newly launched Wagon R variants is addition of 83 hp, 1.2 litre petrol engine, which is more powerful. It is available in four trims namely — 1.2 VXi priced at Rs 4.89 in New Delhi ex-showroom, 1.2 VXi AMT priced at Rs 5.36 lakh, ZXi priced at Rs 5.22 lakh and ZXi AMT priced at Rs 5.69 lakh in New Delhi ex-showroom. In 68 hp trims, 1.0-litre petrol engine would remain unchanged and would be available for car buyers in LXi at Rs 4.19 lakh, VXi at Rs 4.69 lakh ex-showroom options in New Delhi. Car buyers would be intereted to know that 5-speed AMT is offered in both the engines.

Maruti Suzuki Limited has also updated equipment levels, especially when it comes to safety kit. The new Wagon R is at par with segment rivals namely Hyundai, Santro and Tata Tiago. It gets a driver’s side airbag (in fact the ZXi variants get dual front airbags), ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors, apart from other now-mandatory equipment. The top-trim Wagon R ZXi gets creature comforts like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play compatibility, power folding and adjustable wing mirrors with embedded turn indicators, front fog lamps, a rear defogger, washer and wiper, and more.
