Similarly, Bank Nifty was down by 370 points, or 1.17%, to 31,220.65

--Cholamandalam Investment: Down 0.66%. Board will consider a proposal for fundraising (equity capital) by way of the preferential issue to promoter/s on January 23.
--Biocon: Up 0.48%. Bengaluru unit pre-approval inspection by USFDA concludes with zero observations.
--Godawari Power and Ispat Limited: Up 0.80%. Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board granted its consent to operate the Rolling Mill with a capacity of 4,00,000 tonnes per annum and iron ore beneficiation plant with a capacity of 10,00,000 tonne per annum.
--PNC Infratech: Up 1.01%. Declared the L1 (lowest) bidder for the National Highways Authority of India’s EPC Project in Uttar Pradesh for a quoted price of Rs 639 crore.
--Strides Pharma Science: Up 0.53%. Strides Pharma Inc. (SPI), has received an Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from the USFDA for its facility in Riviera Beach, Florida, US.
--Prestige Estates: Up 10.48%. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary acquired 50 percent stake in Lokhandwala DB Realty LLP.
--CEAT: Down 1.27%: Promoter reduces stake to 46.68% from 50.52% (September): BSE filing
--HCL Tech: Down 0.96%. Falls 5% from day's high on profit booking post-Q3 results.
--HDFC Bank: Down 1.58%. Slips over 1% as Q3 provisions rise; analysts maintain 'Buy' provisions, including those for bad loans and contingencies, grew a whopping 37.6 per cent to Rs3,043.6 crore in Q3FY20.
--Fine Organic: Up 4.85%. ICRA upgrades long-term rating from A+ (positive) to AA- (stable). ICRA Retains Short-term rating at A1+.
--Cipla: Up 0.15%. Announced the closure of inspection by the US health regulator at its Patalganga manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
--Adani Enterprises: Down 0.55%. Denies wrongdoing amid allegations of coal supply contract irregularities.
