Heavy rains lashed several parts of Thane, triggering incidents of tree fall and wall collapse.

Thane Fire Brigade Department responded to scores of rescue calls in the last 24 hours, said Thane Municipal Corporation, adding that the department received two fire calls and 42 incidents of tree falls were reported.

Also, people reported incidents of wall and hoarding collapse.

On Friday, as many as six children were injured after a shed fell in the football ground in Maharashtra's Thane, officials said.

"On June 21 at around 11:42 pm six children out of 17 children, who were playing in a football ground in Thane, were injured after a shed fell in the ground," the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) said.

According to the officials, the injured children were admitted to Bethany Hospital, Thane for treatment.

On Wednesday, Chief Scientist, India Meteorological Department, Sunil Kamble said that for the coming two to three days, the Yellow alert for rain has been issued in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad areas.

Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Sunil Kamble said, "The pace of rain in Mumbai had reduced a bit in the last 2-3 days, but now it is gaining momentum. The monsoon current is becoming moderately strong. For the coming 2-3 days, we have given yellow alerts in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad areas. We have also given yellow alerts for the entire Vidarbha. The rest of Maharashtra is also not on alert, but moderate rain will continue there as well."
