Lunar Eclipse 2021: What is Super Flower Blood Moon and where it can be watched?

Skywatchers are in for a treat! People from all over the countries are going to observe a rare Super Moon on 26 May. So, what is this supercelestial event, and where it can be watched? A lunar eclipse is a cosmic event, where the sun disappears. The Moon turns red. The Moon will be located on Earth’s opposite side from the Sun and fully illuminated. This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Flower Moon because this was the time of year when spring flowers appeared in abundance.

The Flower Moon will have the nearest approach to Earth, making it appear as the closest and largest Full Moon of the year. This is what is commonly referred to as a 'Super Flower Blood Moon'. Yet, it’s not just bringing brightness and size. May’s supermoon is also bringing a 'super power' to change its color, and the color is red!

In India, it can be viewed at around 2:17 PM and will be appeared till 7:19 PM. The total duration of the eclipse is 5 hours, 2 minutes. In India, the eclipse will be visible for a short span of time from northeastern parts (except Sikkim), some parts of West Bengal, some coastal parts of Odisha and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands. 

Do they have cosmic effects? This is the first total lunar eclipse to happen in the last two and half years and can encourage people to face issues that have been hidden since November 2019. This event is a good time to reconnect with our bodies and minds and open up emotionally and spiritually to ourselves and other people.
