According to NASA, the upcoming eclipse the duration of this eclipse will be 4 hours, starting on January 10, and ending on January 11. The eclipse will start at 10.30 pm and it will end around 2.40 am in the morning on January 11.

There are three types of lunar eclipse — total, partial and penumbral. This time, it is going to be a penumbral lunar eclipse. This type of lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned, which is darker as compared to other types of lunar eclipse. There are four penumbral lunar eclipses expected to take place in 2020 with the first one on January 10, 2020. In 2019, there was a total lunar eclipse and a partial lunar eclipse.
