Lucknow Hotel Levana, Hazratganj Fire News: A massive fire broke out at a hotel in Hazratganj area of Lucknow on Monday morning. The blaze was reported at Levana hotel, according to news agency ANI. As many as 10 people who were injured in the fire have been admitted to a nearby hospital for medial relief.
A rescue operation was launched with the help of local administration officials and several fire engines were rushed to the site to douse the fire. The fire personnel had a tough time in moving inside the hotel as it is completely sealed with glass panes which had to be broken open to release the smoke inside.
"Ten people who were injured were brought to the hospital, and their treatment is underway. The administration will apprise about the casualties," Manoj Agarwal, CMO, said.
District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said that they had checked the rooms in consultation with the hotel management and all guests had been evacuated. "A final check is being carried out," he added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and directed senior officials to personally supervise the rescue operations and provide proper treatment to the victims. He also visited the hospital to meet the injured persons.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is MP from Lucknow, also expressed concern over the incident. Singh said that he has taken stock of the situation through the local administration. "Relief and rescue operation is underway. His office is in continuous touch with the local administration," he tweeted.
