LPG price cut: Commercial LPG cylinder or 19-kg cylinder will cost less from Monday (August 1) as the oil marketing companies have slashed the price by Rs 36 per tank. The decision to cut LPG prices is in line with softening international rates. This reduction in price, however, is only valid for 19-kg tanks what are mainly used for commercial activities and not the domestic LPG cylinders.
With the latest reduction, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1,976 in Delhi instead of Rs 2012.50, news agency ANI reported.
In Mumbai, a 19-Kg commercial cylinder will now be available at Rs 1936.50 instead of RS 1972.50. In Kolkata, a tank will carry a price tag of Rs 2,095.50 instead of Rs 2,132. Likewise, the price of 19-kg cylinder has been cut to Rs 2,141 from Rs 2177.50 in Chennai.
This is the second reduction in LPG rates within a month. Earlier on July 6, OMCs had cut the price by Rs 8.50 per 19-kg tank.
LPG prices differ from state to state depending on the local taxes such as VAT. Prices are higher in states with higher taxes.
Earlier on July 6, OMCs slashed the 19-kg commercial cylinder price by Rs 8.5 per tank. On the same day, the companies increased the price of 14.2-kg cylinder or domestic cooking gas price by Rs 50.
LPG prices are revised at the beginning of each month by the OMCs.
