LPG cylinders get a price cut; here is what you will pay now

Indian Oil Corp has lowered the price of LPG cylinders this month with effect from May 01. The subsidized LPG, negligible and non-subsidized cylinders rates were reduced by 0.5% this month. The IOCL provides LPG cylinders under its brand Indane, and the prices are listed on its official website.
If a customer wants to purchase a Rs 14.2 kg subsidised cylinder, than the prices are lower - in the range of 10 paisa to 20 paisa in various metro cities.
In New Delhi, a subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder is priced at Rs 491.21 in May 2018, down by 14 paise from previous month's price of Rs 491.35.
As for Kolkata and Mumbai, then these cities saw a 10 paisa reduction each in their prices, as the subsidised cylinder here is valued at Rs 494.23 and Rs 488.94 respectively this month. In April month, the subsidised cylinder was available at Rs 494.33 and Rs 489.04 per 14.2 kg cylinder.
Unlike abovementioned cities, Chennai saw the biggest cuts in their 14.2 kg LPG subsidised cylinders. A 20 paise cut was made and are being made available at Rs 479.42 compared to April month’s Rs 479.44.
However, non-subsidised 14.2 kg LPG cylinders have seen a reduction in the range of 50 paisa to as high as Rs 3.
Delhi saw most cut in non-subsidised LPG cylinders, as here they were valued at Rs 650.5 in May compared to previous month's price of Rs 653.5.
Kolkata and Mumbai saw reduction of Rs 2 each in their prices this month. The non-subsidised LPG cylinders have been priced at Rs 674 and Rs 623 in May as against Rs 676 and Rs 625 of previous month.
Chennai saw lowest cut in their prices, as a non-subsidized LPG cylinders here are available at Rs 663 in May down by 50 paisa compared to previous month price of Rs 663.50.
However, it needs to be noted that even though IOC has decided to give relief to households by trimming LPG cylinders' prices, Indian citizens continue to pay record high amounts on their purchase of petrol and diesel.
On Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged ahead of Karnataka polls.
Petrol price on May 02, stood at Rs 74.63 per litre in New Delhi, Rs 77.32 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 82.48 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 77.43 per litre in Chennai.
Diesel on the same day was valued at Rs 65.93 per litre in New Delhi, Rs 68.63 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 70.20 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 69.56 per litre in Chennai.
