Lok Sabha Polls Phase 6: With the end of campaigning for the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections on Thursday, May 23, the country now gears up for the penultimate phase, with voting to start on Saturday, May 25 at 7 am.
In this phase, polling is scheduled to take place in 58 parliamentary constituencies across eight states and union territories. This includes all seven seats in the national capital, Delhi, all 10 seats in Haryana, 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, eight seats in Bihar and West Bengal each, six seats in Odisha, four seats in Jharkhand, and one seat in Jammu and Kashmir.
This phase also includes the polling in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag-Rajouri, where voting was adjourned in Phase 3 of the elections. Additionally, 42 constituencies of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will also go to the polls simultaneously.
According to the data released by the Election Commission of India, a total of 11.13 crore voters have registered to cast their vote in this phase across 1.14 lakh polling stations in the country.
Till now, polling for 25 states and union territories across 428 seats has been completed in the first five phases of the general elections. The last phase, i.e., the seventh phase of polling, is scheduled to take place on June 1 for the remaining 57 constituencies, with counting scheduled for June 4.
