The draw for Kerala State Lotteries results today will be conducted at Gorky Bhavan, Near Bakery Junction, Thiruvannthapuram.        

According to the information available on its website the Kerala State Lotteries Win Win W-590 lottery results 1st prize winner will be entitled to a prize money of whopping Rs 75 lakhs.    

The Kerala State Lotteries Win Win W-590 lottery results second prize carries a reward of Rs 5 lakh while the 3rd, 4th and 5th spot winners will take Rs 1 lakh, Rs 5000 and Rs 2000 respectively. The 6th, 7th and 8th prize winners will get Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 100. There is also a consolation prize of Rs 8000.        

Kerala is among the 13 states which runs lotteries. The 12 other states are West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Nagaland, Goa, Maharashtra, Manipur and Mizoram.        

The lottery in Kerala is run by the Directorate of Kerala State Lotteries. The department which came into existence on September 1, 1967, released its first lottery ticket on November 1, the same year.        

The department now rolls out seven weekly lotteries viz. Pratheeksha, Dhanasree, Win-Win, Win Win, Bhagyanidhi, Karunya and Pournami lotteries and six bumper lotteries. The department, which started with a few personnel, now has around 465 employees under its Directorate located at Vikas Bhavan at Thiruvananthapuram, 14 District Offices and a Regional Deputy Directorate at Ernakulam.        

Moreover, three Taluk Lottery Offices are also functioning one each at Punalur in Kollam District, Kattappana in Idukki District and Thamarassery in Kozhikkode District. The department which was initially under the Department of Finance was later brought under the Taxes Department.

With its humble beginning, the department was to set an example for the entire country, the department claims. Soon many other states jumped into the bandwagon by starting their own lotteries, it says.
