Karnataka Unlock Guidelines: The Karnataka government on Saturday informed that as a part of providing relaxations, the state government will allow economic and other activities in a graded manner from June 14, 2021, to June 21, 2021. The guidelines will remain in place from today, June 14, 2021, till June 21, 2021, after which they will be revised depending on the COVID-19 situation in the state.

Though there will be relaxations to the economic and other activities, night curfew and weekend curfew have been proposed. News agency ANI has tweeted this decision of the Karnataka government. The tweet said, "Karnataka government allows economic and other activities in a graded manner w.e.f. 6 am of June 14 to 6 am of June 21, wherein weekend and night curfew are proposed to be imposed."

 

The Karnataka government has also informed that weekend curfew would be in force from 7 PM on June 18 to 5 PM on June 21.  Night curfew would be in force on each night on remaining days between 7 PM to 5 AM during the aforementioned period.

Earlier on Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa in a video conference with deputy commissioners of eight districts his expressed concern over COVID-19 cases not decreasing as expected in the state. However, the state government has allowed relaxations in the lockdown restrictions, except for 11 districts where the positivity rate is more than 15 per cent. In these districts, there will be complete lockdown till June 21, 2021.

Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said to ANI, "Based on positivity rate, districts that have more than 15% of positivity rate (about 11 districts ) we've continued with the existing lockdown guidelines. In the remaining districts including Bengaluru city we've relaxed the guidelines." He also informed that the 11 districts with positivity rate more than 15 per cent will have complete lockdown till June 21, 2021, however, from June 14, some relaxations will be granted.

ANI also tweeted the districts in this category, "Chikmagalur, Shivamogga, Davanagere, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru rural, Mandya, Belagavi & Kodagu are in complete lockdown till June 21. From June 14, these 11 districts will have some relaxation like opening of essential shops: K Sudhakar."

 

As per an ANI report on June 13, 2021, at present, there are 1,91,817 active COVID-19 cases in Karnataka. As many as, 25,32,719 recoveries and 32,788 deaths have been reported.
