Shahid Kapoor starrer, Kabir Singh is all set to mark its opening on Friday (tomorrow). The movie is a remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, which was a super-hit blockbuster in 2017. While the film critics are expecting Kabir Singh to post an excellent business at b.o. becoming Shahid's first ever Rs 100 crore movie as a solo male lead. Earlier R. Rajkumar was the one which bagged close to Rs 65 crore, which had Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in lead. Kabir Singh, on the other hand, could be the first solo led movie from Shahid that could turn out impressive BO collections numbers.

Kabir Singh is directed and written by Sandeep Vanga and has Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles. The movie has already created a lot of curiosity and buzz on social media and has become a topic of discussion among Indian youth. With an interesting trailer and brilliant acting by Shahid and Kiara, the movie could really attract huge footfall in theatres. 

Film Critic and Trade analyst, Sumit Kadel told Zee Business Online, ''The movie has created a buzz on Internet right after the launch of its trailer and songs. The audience is eager to watch him on cinema in different looks on reel. As far as the opening business is concerned, it can easily collect Rs 11 to Rs 12 crores on its release day, while in case it turns out a good content it may surpass Rs 50 crore in the weekend.''

As far as the story of the film is concerned it shows the title character Kabir Singh (Shahid), as an alcoholic surgeon who goes on a track of self-destruction after his girlfriend Preeti (Kiara Advani) is forced to tie the knot with someone else. Shahid’s character Kabir Singh will be looking in different shades of a cool college boy, a bearded alcoholic and a tough guy on screen this time. 

Solo Rs 100 crore movie here refers to a film which has one male actor in lead. Earlier, Shahid Kapoor's Padmavat was the blockbuster hit that gained a lot of appreciation from the audience and managed to surpass Rs 300 crore on Indian b.o. Though it was not the solo male led movie and had Ranveer Singh (Alauddin Khalji) as a negative lead character along with Shahid Kapoor (Ratan Singh).
