Kabir Singh box office collection day 5: Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani pairing has stunned and shocked the critics as well as trade analysts by entering the Rs 100 crore club in just five days. The film was expected to do well even before the release but such dominance at the box office was expected by none. With this, the film has also become Shahid Kapoor's first solo hero release to earn more than Rs 100 crore. Before Kabir Singh, the actor had achieved the feat with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat which also had Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.

Kabir Singh had got off to a flying start by earning Rs 20.21 crore on the first day of release. The film has taken its weekend momentum to even weekdays by earning Rs 17.54 crore and Rs 16.53 crore on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. This takes the Shahid Kapoor starrer's overall collection to Rs 104.90 crore by the end of fifth day. At this rate, the film's overall collection by the end of first week should be around Rs 130 crore.

"#KabirSingh cruises past ₹ 200 cr... Shahid Kapoor scores his first *solo* century... Extraordinary trending on weekdays... Eyes ₹ 130 cr+ total in Week 1... Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr, Sun 27.91 cr, Mon 17.54 cr, Tue 16.53 cr. Total: ₹ 104.90 cr. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER," movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Wednesday morning, confirming the film's collection.

Kabir Singh is now the second fastest film to Rs 200 crore in 2019, only after Salman Khan's Bharat that had achieved the feat in just four days. What makes the feat more special is the fact that Kabir Singh had released on fewer screens across the country. While Bharat had hit 4700 screens, Kabir Singh released on just 3123 screens across the country.

Before this, Akshay Kumar's Kesari had reached the Rs 100 crore mark on the seventh day while Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy had done the same in 8 days. Interestingly, both the films had got more screens than Kabir Singh.

Film trade analyst, critic and influencer also tweeted that Kabir Singh is already a blockbuster. "#KabirSingh Tuesday- HUGE start again. Film to enter ₹ 100 cr in flat 5 days. BLOCKBUSTER," he tweeted. The film should continue to do well over the next week as well as no big commercial release is scheduled with Ayushmann Khurana's Article 15 likely to appeal to only a section of moviegoers.
