Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told  TimesNow  that the first weekend collection of Kaala should easily stand between Rs 15-18 crore, adding that the figures can even go higher. The Hindi version of Rajinikanth's Kaala may rake in a total of close to Rs 5 crore, he added.

"If you look at the way films have performed in the last few weeks, there is strong likelihood that this film will do well. 2018, in particular, has been a year wherein most of the films have performed extremely well. Let’s hope that Kaala also rides that way. But I certainly think that from the Hindi version alone, a convenient Rs 4.5 crore-Rs 5 crore is possible, and anything above that can happen,” TimesNow quoted Rathi as saying.

Kaala, the Rajinikanth film also stars Huma Qureshi and has Nana Patekar as antagonist. All Rajinikanth fans were excited at the prospect of witnessing the magic of Thalaivar on the big screen once again. Right before the morning show today, the fans gathered outside theatres and danced to drum rolls, bursting fire crackers, and cutting cakes. This is how fans of actor Rajinikanth celebrated the release of film Kaala in Tamil Nadu earlier in the day.
