Kaala box office collection: Rajinikanth fails to cheer crowd in few states, earns just Rs 6.5 crore on 1st day

Kaala box office collection: Popular Tamil film actor Rajinikanth, who is now also trying his hand in politics, has always made buzz at the box office whenever new release came. His style and action always captivated audiences. His new movie has managed to perform  well at the box office in Tamil Nadu, but somehow has failed to cheer crowd in states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.  In Tamil Nadu, the flick has earned Rs 15 crore on the first Day of release. However, the movie achieved nearly half of box offices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by grossing around Rs 6.5 crore on the day. This is interestingly below average for a Rajinikanth film, because this man is meant to sway box office charts with any movie. 

What has caused the movie to record single digit collection in the mentioned states, is Ramadan period and monsoon. The tepid performance was not limited to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Kaala movie also took a troll in Karnataka due to opposition from pro-Kannada elements.
According to a bollywoodlife.com report, a dozen screens out of the 160 planned screening the Kaala.

In Kerala, Rajinikanth starrer flick has reportedly collected Rs 1.44 crore. The movie has already crossed the $1 million-mark in the US.  Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a tweet,"As you read this, #Kaala crosses $ 1 million mark in USA... Total till Sat [9 June 2018] 10.36 am IST: $ 1,011,633 [₹ 6.83 cr]… Updated numbers later... @Rentrak."

On its second day of hitting the box office, the film will be playing in all announced screens in Karnataka.The movie is written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Dhanush. The movie revolves around  Dharavi slum.  As usual, Rajinikanth is in the lead role and main attraction. Actor Nana Patekar has also played a small part in the movie.
