According to reports, the state government officials plan to negotiate with the existing industries opposed to the move to implement the 75% local quota. Industries based in the state reportedly cited to giving priority to skilled manpower than local quota, therefore, the Jagan government is striving hard to convince them to adhere to the decision.

The Andhra Chief Minister also announced 1.33 lakh village volunteer jobs for unemployed youth in the state, as the state government wants to implement the quota over the next three years.

During his ‘padayatra’ in the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy had assured giving 75% local quota to people, and the issue was a key poll promise during the campaign for elections also. In the ongoing assembly session, the state government is likely to introduce the bill, which if passed, the Jagan government is hopeful of implementing it soon.
