Jobs reservations: In a bid to eradicate unemployment in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy in a cabinet meeting recently proposed to implement 75% quota in industrial jobs to local youths within three years in the state, thereby introducing local quota in all the new and existing industries.
According to reports, the state government officials plan to negotiate with the existing industries opposed to the move to implement the 75% local quota. Industries based in the state reportedly cited to giving priority to skilled manpower than local quota, therefore, the Jagan government is striving hard to convince them to adhere to the decision.

During his ‘padayatra’ in the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy had assured giving 75% local quota to people, and the issue was a key poll promise during the campaign for elections also. In the ongoing assembly session, the state government is likely to introduce the bill, which if passed, the Jagan government is hopeful of implementing it soon.
