Jewar to become next big business hub? How international airport is set to turnaround Noida, Greater Noida
Around 20 MNCs have expressed their desire to establish their units in Noida as metro connectivity, expressway and Jewar airport together would make it easier for the top officials of the company to reach out their units in quick time.
After more than a decade long dilly-dallying over the Noida International Airport being proposed in Jewar of Greater Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of UP, the government of India is finally going to lay the foundation stone of the long-awaited demand of the area on February 25th. However, if we go by the Greater Noida Industries Association — an industrialist's body founded by the UP government for the industries welfare in the region — more than 20Multi National Companies (MNCs) have expressed their desire to invest in the indsutrial sector in the region.
Speaking over the Industrial investment taking place in the wake of Jewar airport Aditya Ghildiyal, President, Greater Noida Industries Association told Zee Business online, "We have received more than 20 queries from the MNCs showing interest in investing in Noida. Some of them due to the investment norms can't fit into that category and we have recommended them to invest in Agra and Mathura industrial cluster."

When asked whether farmers are ready to give their land for airport development, Ghildiyal said, "In recent investors meet, farmers representatives were also present and near 80 per cent of the people present there were pro-Jewar airport idea. Rest 20 per cent were in limbo, even they were not averse to the idea. They were demanding more rates for their land which the government representatives present there have assured to address."
On the potential industrial development taking place due to the Jewar airport, Vipin Malhan, President, Noida Entrepreneur's Association said, "It's premature to say the volume of growth but yes the development is for sure. Noida has always been an interested destination for investment for companies from China, Japan and Korea. After the Jewar airport announcement, companies from these nations are bound to show their interest as they want their vendors around their unit. So after the jewar airport, big jump in jobs would also take place." Malhan said that since Delhi-NCR is over crowded, the investment is expected to trickle into emerging suburbs of Greater Noida to Mathura, Agra industrial cluster. "In fact near 100 kms radius of Jewar would witness a big leap in investment and infra developmet as expressway and metro has already reached to Greater Noida and the government is mulling to extend metro route up to Agra," said Malhan.
